OnTrack: Consumer Credit Counseling Service of WNC

This week’s non-profit client spotlight highlights OnTrack WNC Financial Education & Counseling, and their mission to help people achieve their money and housing goals through financial education, counseling and support so that they can overcome crises, afford basic needs, improve money management skills and make sound financial choices rooted in their values.  

Founded in 1973, OnTrack WNC provides education on managing money through homeownership and using credit wisely. The Debt Repayment Program helps those who are in debt get back on track by going alongside creditors to reduce monthly payments and interest rates and eliminate late fees. It is overall dedicated to advising people on how to manage their money and credit better.

OnTrack also provides special programs addressing the following:

  • Free Tax Preparation: simple tax returns for individuals and families with 2018 household income of less than $54,000
  • The Women's Financial Empowerment Center: a full range of financial counseling and education services with a women-centered approach
  • Services for Seniors: financial education & cunseling for older adults
  • Employee Financial Wellness: to help your employees deal with financial problems and create an action plan to address their situations
